WRITING

I’ve always loved writing, and I found it helpful as a cathartic exercise as part of my burnout recovery. When I felt alone in my recovery process, I kept notes either as audio or in writing, that recorded how I was feeling, and the frustrations and successes I experienced along the way.

Much later, when I had passed through the recovery process, I began to put all of these thoughts and experiences down in a more publishable way, and the result is my online blog hosted on Substack – A Measured Approach to Burnout.

I’m currently writing my first book about a holistic approach to burnout recovery, and burnout as metamorphosis.

WHAT READERS SAY

“Beautifully written and bang on. It was a delight to read, and accurate, even though it’s an emotive subject. I can relate to so much of it. It was a great description of demanding systems. That was a really thorough and interesting discussion of the recovery process.”

Ben C, teacher

“What a great piece of writing, and what a huge experience to go through. It’s obviously led to a whole new understanding of yourself.”

Jo M, psychotherapist

“I love reading these, you write beautifully.”

Jess C, education worker

“You write so very well! If I was still working as a GP, I would be recommending your blog to patients and colleagues. I will pass it on to people I think could benefit, including health professionals. I fear that toxic working conditions are only going to get worse in the current political environment – yours is a much needed voice.”
